If you thought you’re opening another article that sells you a service and then follows you around with ads, then you’ll be happy to know that no, that's not it. Okay, sure I'll remarket you, but what I really want to point out is how simple it can be to improve our lives with a few small changes.
Vague, right?
Well, often in life we’re facing situations where we’re not happy with the communication we give or receive in the environment in which we are. Sometimes I felt that no matter how I approached the problem, something still wasn’t right and the message seemed to be misinterpreted by the receiver, rather the way it was intended. Are you with me?
We are social animals. It is not easy for us to NOT communicate and especially, we cannot evolve if we do NOT communicate. And now I'm not talking about how important it is to know a minimum of basic notions, a language, a dialect, an alphabet, anything ... a little?! If our ancestors managed to hieroglyphize and raise empires, we can certainly communicate constructively and effectively.
Now, assuming we have all the tools and the information set. What now? How do we mobilize further when we come face to face with society? When we go to a new school or a new college? What about the couple's life? What do we do at a new job? How do we negotiate a new budget? In any case, we would love to communicate ef-fi-cient-ly. Let’s see.
If you want to see the history of the Process Communication Model®, read here, because in this article we are not talking about its history but about streamlining the communication process, so present in our lives.
It's been about three months since I took the six days PCM® course, so I think I'm able to talk a little bit about what changes have taken place in my communication as a human being. One thing is for sure, being a marcom specialist and realizing that you have communication problems is not exactly fun. You become aware of the gaps you must fix when you recognize the type of your personality and all your "whys" light up.
Personality types are built on unique and distinct characteristics of each, but which can be generalized and found in similar manifestations, in several people. Does it make any sense? Let me try one more time: if at 24 I'm a super hyped person, involved and always active in marketing, but René at 48 at Lyon is super energetic, active and always takes the initiative in his electronics, it is possible that we are associated with the same basic personality type. This does not mean that we are identical, no, but only that we have certain patterns of behavior in common. We are not talking about what we do, but rather about how we do it.
I received the documentation for the course couple of hours before it started, I looked at the table for a while and said, yes, a certain type of personality resembles mine. More than a bit. And it was WOW to see that we all have all six different personality types in our structure and from of all of them, one which is my base, defines me so well. And you'll see during the training that it makes so much sense.
By identifying personality combinations, not those of n things taken as k, but those that are really obvious and to which we can adapt, we become efficient in communication. ]
The purpose of the training is to show you from the start why each person is unique in their own way. No one can say what is right or wrong and we have to accept and especially adapt to the one in front of us. We are born in a certain way and we can change various things in our lives, but the genetic foundation complemented by interactions with the environment in the first years of life, will always significantly influence our behavior.
How does this apply to everyday life? The course passes, but the interaction with family, life partner, friends or colleagues stays and I identify what are the characteristics, fears and reasons of stress for everyone. It really takes a few small signs, gestures and distinctive features to finally understand how to adapt to the one next to me.
The very first moment when I really understood the purpose of the course was the first conflict or the first argument avoided. And that's because in six days I understood why and how we communicate.
I admit, I also have weekly follow-up assignments, but only six days can make a huge difference. It can grow businesses, it can save marriages. But hey, even though there are many of us who have taken this course and our experiences are still amazing, months and even years after, please do not take our word for it. Cheers!

Until not long ago, selling was a very well-articulated process, in which the position of sales agent was quite controversial. But how are things today?
